Visually Impaired Learners
|
Following on from our Visually Impaired Learners Project, working with ‘Seeing’, a local charity for people who are visually impaired, we now offer a ‘drop in’ session for learners with visual impairment. The session is every Thursday, during term-time between 2.00 and 4.00. The Project - In July 2003 three local people, who were all Blind, visited the Centre asking to learn how to use a computer. We already had one visually impaired learner using supernova software supplied by UK online, and had given individual support to a blind learner to set up a website. In September we were approached by another learner who is blind. All these learners had heard about the Centre by word of mouth. The Access for Visually Impaired learner's project started in September 2003 with 5 learners. |
